MK3 LOW VOLTAGE
LEAD: DANIEL SIMONE
This year, MK3 Low Voltage will:
- Assemble PCBs for Vehicle Control Unit and three auxiliary LV modules (HAM/DRS, steering, pedals) throughout the vehicle
- Machine, 3D-print, and laser-cut mechanical components to protect electrical modules against the environment
- Design and fabricate a low voltage wire harness considering EMI, abrasion, and voltage drops in the cables
- Validate basic analog safety components, such as the safety loop, brake light, TSAL/RTML, and safety status indicators
- Ensure embedded team’s software works seamlessly with custom-designed hardware as well as outsourced telemetry
MK3 ACCUMULATOR
LEAD: SERGEI KUDRIAVTCEV
This year, MK3 Accumulator will:
- Build off of last years design work and finish designing segment boards
- Finalize and build the enclosure (test structure integrety)
- Design and build the main board PCB
- Tap weld the ~500 cells to create the battery
MK3 AERO
LEAD: MAIA ABIANI
MK3 HIGH VOLTAGE
LEAD: ISAAC LONGO
MK3 EMBEDDED
LEAD: NADULA GARDIYEHEWA
This year, MK3 Embedded will:
- Integrate MK2C sensor systems — linear potentiometers, GPS+IMU, and tire temperature/pressure sensors — into the MK3 platform
- Program and manage the CAN bus network for MK3 to ensure reliable data transmission between subsystems
- Develop and refine the driver dashboard to display key metrics like accumulator SoC, speed, motor and inverter temperatures, etc.
- Implement data logging and telemetry systems to collect performance data during test runs
- Use sensor and telemetry data to inform tuning and improve vehicle performance
- Collaborate with other subteams to ensure seamless integration of embedded software with hardware systems and overall vehicle control logic
